LEON, MEXICO-August 9, 2012 – Mexico Meetings Network (MMN), the leading English language platform for Mexico’s meetings industry and Cvent’s Mexican partner, today announced that total requests for proposal (RFPs) sent to Mexico via the Cvent Supplier Network (CSN) increased 160% in the first half of 2012. Mexico Meetings Network uses content marketing and digital strategies to increase the online presence of Mexican properties, and integrates Cvent’s RFP tool on more than 3,000 pages of information on Mexican venues, service providers, destination guides and industry news, so that meeting planners can start their Mexico event planning with one-click.
“We’ve seen increased activity on our site--- more traffic, a greater volume of searches—and now we know that activity is being converted to a higher volume of business leads for Mexico,” said Margot Lee Shetterly, President of Mexico Meetings Network.
MMN’s Mexico content is distributed through news briefs, email newsletters, destination guides, meetings toolkits, social networks and blogs on the Cvent platform, and positions Mexican Convention and Visitors’ Bureaus (CVBs) and venues with highly-qualified meeting and events planners from around the world.
Volume of RFPs sent to Mexico through the Cvent Supplier Network through June 30, 2012 was up 160% over the same in 2011. The increase can be attributed to MMN’s ongoing efforts to educate the Mexican market on the value of electronic RFP tools, and the push to increase the number of venues with profiles on the Cvent Supplier Network.
“2011 was a great year in terms of RFPs for Mexico,” said Aran Shetterly, Mexico Meetings Network’s General Manager. “We’ve worked hard on product adoption, and more properties using the system means that planners have even more options for in Mexico. It looks like 2012 is posed to be even more successful than last year.”
