Grupo Xcaret, the Quintana Roo-based eco-park operator, announced that it expects 30,000 national and international visitors to its new attraction "Xenotes, Mayan Oasis", a tour that allows customers to visit four cenotes, or subterranean pool fed by underground rivers. Xenotes, located in Puerto Morelos, will open in July.
Libeth Alvarez, Xcaret's Director, said the new park is a way for guests to relax and enjoy themsleves, through contact with nature and sporting activities.
"They'll be able to get in touch with nature and disconnect from the stress and chaos of daily city life, " said Alvarez.
The individual entrance fee is $112 USD for adults, and half price for children. Group packages are available, and the price includes transportation, a trained guide, snorkel equipment, food and water sports.
The four cenotes on the tour are named K'áak (Fuego), Lu'um (Tierra), Lik' (Viento) y Ha' (Agua). Activities available include kayaking, rappeling, snorkeling, and zip lines.
